• Discuss what children like about each character, pointing out how they are different.
• McDuff is given a medal by Diesel for being brave going out to meet Squeaky, the “thing” they were all afraid of. What do people get medals for?
• Make a medal for something special the children have done – using string or coloured wool, a cardboard circle with foil wrapped around it or coloured paper.
