The value of children’s television in our schools

As well as being engaging and entertaining, Australian children’s television stories have educational, social and cultural value for children. When used in teaching settings, they can support, extend and consolidate students’ knowledge on a broad range of topics right across the Australian curriculum.

What’s on for the ACTF in 2023

It’s shaping up to be another big year for the Australian Children’s Television Foundation, with several exciting series due to air in 2023 and many others in production or development.

Production begins on series inspired by AFL great Eddie Betts’ books Eddie’s Lil’ Homies

An animated television series inspired by the popular children’s books Eddie’s Lil’ Homies has commenced production in South Australia and Victoria and will air simultaneously on Netflix and National Indigenous Television (NITV).

New episodes of Kangaroo Beach airing now

Australia’s favourite lifeguard cadets are back, with the second season of the hit animated preschool series Kangaroo Beach out now.

Teach water safe behaviours with the SLSA-endorsed Kangaroo Beach resource

In Kangaroo Beach, four young animal friends spend an action-packed summer training as junior cadets with their lifeguard heroes. Recently endorsed by Surf Life Saving Australia, our teaching resource forefronts the water safety messages in the series.
